Devastating 2-Vehicle Crash on 43rd Avenue Left 2 People Lifeless [Phoenix, AZ]

Thomas Oviatt and Janette Oviatt Killed in Crash on 43rd Avenue in Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ (December 13, 2023) – On Wednesday afternoon, 80-year-old Thomas Oviatt and 79-year-old Janette Oviatt died in a 2-vehicle crash on 43rd Avenue.

At around 2:30 p.m., an unidentified Ford driver, allegedly speeding, collided with the vehicle of the victims at the intersection of 43rd and Ruth Avenues, just south of Dunlap Avenue.

Janette lost her life at the scene, and Thomas passed away at the hospital. The Ford driver, currently receiving treatment at the hospital, was taken into custody by the police. 

Authorities do not believe impairment played a role in the incident.

No additional information is immediately available.
