Victorville, CA (September 11, 2020) – On Thursday, around 8:30 a.m. 2 people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 395.

Authorities said the semi-truck, southbound on Highway 395, ran a red light at the crossing of Dos Palmas.

Victorville Sheriff’s Station spokesperson Mara Rodriguez said “The Nissan truck and the van were traveling eastbound on Dos Palmas. The semi hit the Nissan and then flipped on to its side, falling on the van in the process.”

Furthermore, the Victorville City Fire Department was first to respond to the scene and immediately airlifted the female Nissan driver to a hospital.

Additionally, police say that the victim suffered minor injuries.

Moreover, an ambulance took the male driver of the semi-truck to a nearby hospital, he suffered minor injuries as well.

Meanwhile, the third driver of an AT&T work van did not sustain any injuries.

Additionally, the trailer of the big rig spilled pallets of Gatorade onto the highway.

Ultimately, police advise taking caution when using the Southbound lanes of US 395, as it reopened around 2:00 p.m. Moreover, Northbound 395 between Lunda Road and Palmdale Road is still impassible due to the cleaning of the scene.

Lastly, the investigation is still ongoing to completely assess the cause of the crash.

Roadway Safety and Awareness

It is true that roadways, while scrupulously created and mapped for efficient travel, are one of the most dangerous settings. Moreover, according to the United States Department of Transportation, there are approximately 300,000 merging accidents every year.

Furthermore, each year, around 20-50 million people suffer injury and/or become disabled due to a vehicle crash.

Therefore, it is crucial that everyone remain calm in order to properly handle the immediate aftermath of an automobile collision.

It is important to practice safe driving habits on the road at all times… even when it is empty. Most especially, even when there is no police officer around to make sure you make a full and complete stop.

Here are the steps we need to do in a crash:

Before anything else, seek medical attention if you have been hurt.

Then, get to a safe place to prevent further damage or injury.

Also, collect as much information as possible: insurance and contact information of people involved in the accident, pictures/videos of vehicles involved, and documentation of fault Do not forget to include whatever that can be used for evidence.

Additionally, file a police report or incident report by calling 911.
