Mitchell Finesod Arrested after Fatal Head-On Crash on Highway 60

MORENO VALLEY, CA (September 5, 2019) – Two people died in a head-on crash on Highway 60, Thursday afternoon. Authorities withheld the identity of the victims, pending notification of next of kin.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 1:10 PM. A white 1993 Corvette allegedly attempted to pass slow traffic at a construction zone. Witnesses claim that the Corvette illegally passed vehicles on the right shoulder.

Then, the Corvette attempted to pass a big rig, clipping the right front wheel of the vehicle. The impact caused the Corvette to lose control near the center median k-rail. There, it crashed into an eastbound Jaguar SUV.

The male driver of the SUV and his female left rear passenger succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. Meanwhile, the right front and rear passengers of the SUV suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The Corvette driver, identified as 55-year-old Mitchell Finesod of Cathedral City, was taken into CHP custody. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
