2 Injured After Car Strikes Big Rig in Cajon Pass
CAJON PASS, CA (April 10, 2019) – A two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck on the 15 Freeway near Oak Hill Road Tuesday left two people injured.
According to reports, the incident happened around 3:22 p.m. on the northbound freeway.
An off-duty LACO Sheriff Deputy at the scene began performing CPR on a male occupant, per a California Highway Patrol log.
According to CHP, a red Ford Fusion rammed into the rear of a tractor-trailer and a man suffering from a head injury was spotted down on the roadway.
Shortly after the collision, San Bernardino County Fire arrived and performed medical assistance on the two occupants. However, due to the severity of injuries, firefighters summoned a helicopter to land and transport one patient to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, paramedics brought the second patient by ground ambulance.
It is unclear at this point what caused the accident, but an investigation is underway.
