Mail Carrier and Van Crash in Hemet
HEMET, CA (April 1, 2019) – One person suffered minor injuries in Friday’s DUI crash involving a mail carrier truck at West Latham and North Hamilton avenues.
Responding officials arrived at the scene around 4:30 p.m. After receiving reports of a two-car accident involving a mail carrier vehicle, officials arrived to find the mail vehicle on its side.
The driver of this U.S. mail carrier vehicle escaped injury and was already out of the van when officials arrived. Also, at the scene, officers found a green Toyota minivan, which struck the mail van, about a hundred yards away.
In their investigation, authorities learned that the minivan driver blew through a stop sign and broadsided the mail carrier van.
As a result, the passenger of the van suffered minor injuries. Yet soon after, paramedics brought the victim to Hemet Valley Hospital for further treatment. Meanwhile, the minivan driver displayed signs of impairment during the investigation, which led to an arrest.
Both vehicles – one of which sustained front-end damage while the other sustained minor side damage – were towed away for investigations.
Drunk driving accidents happen frequently. Although, you can dodge the dangers of car accidents and trouble with the law by making wiser decisions. Never drink and drive. It’s best to contact a Rideshare service instead of operating your own car while inebriated.
