Zulfiqar Chaudhry Dead, Woman Injured in 2-Car Wreck on North Sanderson Avenue Near Gilman Springs Road
SAN JACINTO, CA (January 31, 2019) – A 72-year-old man perished at the scene of a head-on collision Tuesday night on North Sanderson Avenue near Gilman Springs Road.
The deadly incident happened around 11:15 p.m. Zulfiqar Chaudhry was pronounced dead by paramedics shortly after, according to Riverside County coroner.
Per the California Highway Patrol, Chaudhry was operating a white 2004 Honda Civic southbound on Sanderson Avenue. For unknown reasons, he allowed his vehicle to drift to the left and cross the center median where it veered into the path of a woman’s vehicle. The woman operating the northbound 1998 Honda Accord crashed into Chaudhry’s Civic.
The 72-year-old man died in the crash and the unidentified woman was brought to Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley.
Alcohol, drugs or medical conditions have not been ruled out as factors in the crash. Authorities are investigating this case further to determine the ultimate cause.
