86-Year-Old YuenWah TangLo Dies in Concord Pedestrian Accident
CONCORD, CA (January 2, 2019) – Wednesday afternoon, a 86-year-old woman, identified as YuenWah TangLo, died in a car accident while crossing the street.
Authorities responded to the accident around 3:20 PM at the intersection of north of Ayers Road and Valley Crest Drive.
The vehicle was driven by a 58-year-old Concord man, whose name has not been released. The vehicle was traveling south on Ayers Road and struck TangLo, who was crossing in the southbound lane. Police stated the victim was walking outside of the crosswalk upon impact.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and has been cooperating with police. Ayers Road between Clayton Road and Valley Crest Drive were closed for a long period of time while police investigated.
Neither drugs and alcohol were considered to be contributing factors. No further details have been disclosed, as the investigation continues. Anyone who witnessed the accident is encouraged to call traffic investigator Justin Wilson with the Concord Police Department at (925) 671-5962.
