Bicyclist Critical after Major Hit-and-Run Crash near Villa Street
PASADENA, CA (November 13, 2019) – Police arrested Fontana-resident Yiting Kang after a hit-and-run crash on Marengo Avenue on late Wednesday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened near Villa Street at approximately 11:43 AM.
Based on a report from the Pasadena Police and Fire Department, the cyclist traveled northbound on Marengo. After that, a northbound 2000 Mercedes-Benz struck the cyclist. However, the vehicle fled the scene after the incident.
Paramedics transported the cyclist, who is a juvenile, to the hospital. According to police, the victim is listed in critical condition.
Pasadena Police contacted the Glendora Police Department for assistance to locate the Benz. After that, they arrested 35-year-old Kang. Police booked her into the Pasadena jail for DUI and hit-and-run collision.
