Worker Hospitalized After Driver Strikes Construction Site Zone
ANAHEIM, CA (July 31, 2019) – A construction site worker fell into a hole in a car crash on Ball Road near State College Boulevard.
According to Anaheim Fire and Rescue, the incident happened near Ball Road, around 10:30 p.m.
When fire crews responded, they found a man at the bottom of a 20-foot hole. It appears the victim, performing shoring work for a sewer construction site project prior to the crash, fell in when a white Toyota Corolla plowed into the equipment.
Per a sergeant, the driver, described as a male in his 20s, tried leaving the scene but nearby workers pointed him out to officers. Soon after, police arrested him for hit-and-run, having a suspended license and outstanding warrants.
Impairment does not seem to be related to the crash. As for the victim, he suffered musculoskeletal injuries and took treatment from a trauma center.
