Women Injured in 2-Vehicle Collision on Interstate 5 [Tumwater, WA]

Tumwater, WA (July 20, 2023) – Past 5 a.m. on Wednesday, two women were injured following a 2-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 near DuPont.

The traffic accident unfolded on the northbound lanes of the freeway in the area of Mounts Road involving a semi-truck that rear-ended a car.

As a result of the collision, the truck’s cab and trailer rolled over as a result of the collision, 

The 24-year-woman driving the car sustained injuries and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Similarly, the 57-year-old woman driving the truck was also injured and hospitalized. 

Moreover, the wreck reduced traffic to one lane and the backup extended from the Mounts Road area to Tumwater.

WSDOT authorities stated at about 12:10 p.m. that they were still waiting on a low-boy trailer to remove the big rig trailer that rolled over.
