Luis Duarte Ibarra of Santa Ana Arrested in First Street Collision [Santa Ana, CA]

Santa Ana, CA (April 26, 2024) – The authorities have arrested Luis Duarte Ibarra, 51, of Santa Ana, following a First Street hit-and-run collision early Friday morning.

The authorities responded at about 4:30 a.m. to Sullivan Street and located an unresponsive male pedestrian in the roadway.

Investigators said a westbound motorist on First Street struck a pedestrian who was standing in the roadway and the motorist then continued driving westbound.

Sadly, the pedestrian was declared deceased a few minutes later.

Duarte Ibarra was arrested around 4:45 a.m. Friday in Garden Grove on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. 

The authorities are investigating if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the fatal collision.
