22-Year-Old Female Hospitalized after Pedestrian Accident near Grissom Street
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 24, 2019) – A 22-year-old woman suffered several injuries Saturday morning in a pedestrian collision on Palm Avenue, near Grissom Street.
The incident unfolded around 11:45 a.m., in the 3600 block of Palm Avenue. Reports say a 39-year-old man driving a Toyota Corolla lost control of his vehicle. His car traveled up a sidewalk and struck the woman pushing her 4-month-old son in a stroller.
The woman suffered a lost tibia and fibula fracture that demanded surgery as a result of the impact.
Although the stroller was struck, the child suffered remained uninjured. His grandparents however did bring him to a nearby hospital as a precaution.
The driver also suffered an unknown injury after complaining of pain to his right hand.
Now, officers are investigating the leading cause of the accident and the circumstances surrounding the details of this collision.
