Pedestrian Accident in San Diego Results in Major Injuries
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 4, 2020) — A woman suffered major injuries following Sunday’s DUI pedestrian crash on El Cajon Boulevard near 56th Street.
According to San Diego police Officer John Buttle, a 19-year-old man driving a Toyota Corolla eastbound on El Cajon Boulevard struck the 38-year-old woman around 10:30 p.m.
It appears the woman ran into the left side of the vehicle and suffered multiple injuries; a skull fracture, a spinal fracture and a broken leg are among those injuries in which she sustained.
Given the severity of her injuries, paramedics arrived shortly after and ushered her to a local hospital for treatment.
Investigators determined that the pedestrian had been drinking moments before the accident; however, they do not presume alcohol or drugs played a role in the driver’s part.
The use of alcohol and drugs can make matters worse especially when operating a vehicle. If you’ve been drinking, avoid driving a car and rely on more trusted and safer ways of transportation. You can greatly avoid the risk of car accidents by making more sensible decisions.
