Wrong-Way Driver Dies in Novato Crash
NOVATO, CA (April 17, 2019) – A wrong-way driver died Tuesday night after colliding with a vehicle on Highway 37 near Highway 101.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman traveling eastbound on Highway 37 in the wrong direction struck a vehicle head-on.
Witnesses reported the wrong-way vehicle around 9:20 p.m., just moments before the crash. Nearly six minutes later, police responded to reports of the crash near the transition to Highway 101.
Unfortunately, the wrong-way driver died in the collision and the person whom she struck suffered minor injuries.
Neither party was identified by authorities.
It is unclear at this point whether impairment played a role, but authorities are investigating this case further.
