Woman Dead, Man Injured in Possible Street Racing Crash
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 13, 2019) – A woman died, and a man suffered life-threatening injuries in Sunday’s two-car crash at East 131st Street and Towne Avenue.
According to authorities, the incident took place in the Athens Village community of Los Angeles. Around 10:24 p.m., California Highway Patrol officers arrived at the scene to investigate.
Arriving officers found a white Toyota Camry and a gray Infiniti sedan. Authorities believe the two cars may have been street racing right before the accident.
By 11:17 p.m., a representative from the coroner’s office arrived to tend to the fatal victim. The woman’s identity has yet to be confirmed.
The man, on the other hand, suffered life-threatening injuries and sought treatment at an area hospital.
Investigators are looking closely into this case to determine the ultimate cause and any other suspects involved in the accident.
