Deadly Head-On DUI Accident in Weaverville

 
WEAVERVILLE, CA (January 31, 2020)—A woman died in a suspected DUI head-on collision on Highway 299 near Whiskeytown scales Wednesday.
 
According to officers, two pickup trucks collided when one of them veered into the opposite lane of travel.
 
An investigation remains but thus far, officers believe the woman driving the Chevy, traveling eastbound toward Redding, collided with the westbound Toyota pickup truck that entered her lane.
 
Officers determined that the driver in the Toyota pickup truck appeared intoxicated. They arrested the at-fault driver on charges of DUI.
 
The female victim, however, suffered major injuries and sought treatment at a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, she died a short time later. Information surrounding her identity was not available.
