SAN DIEGO, CA (June 8, 2022) – Tuesday morning, a woman died in a DUI crash on Othello Avenue and Convoy Street in Kearny Mesa.
 
The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. on Othello Avenue and Convoy Street. According to reports, a Tesla driver headed south and failed to yield at a red light. Then, the driver hit a dip, went airborne, and struck the woman.
 
Moreover, the crash happened as the woman walked south on Convoy Street. The vehicle fell on a small embankment along with a KFC drive-thru on the northeast corner of the intersection.
 
Meanwhile, the 40-year-old female pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries. Thus, responders took her to a hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
 
Furthermore, the authorities arrested the 39-year-old male driver of the Tesla.
