Woman Dead in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident on Stockdale Highway

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 17, 2021) – Saturday night, a woman was fatally struck in an accident on Stockdale Highway near Village Lane.
 
The crash happened at about 6:10 p.m. in the 5100 block of Stockdale Highway near Village Lane, stated Sgt. Chance Koerner.
 
According to reports, a vehicle hit the woman near Village Lane. As a result, the authorities declared her dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the driver stayed at the crash scene and helped with the investigation.
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t confirmed whether the woman used a crosswalk during the crash. Also, they noted that the pedestrian was carrying a dog at the time of the crash.
 
However, the dog reportedly survived and is now under Animal Control’s custody.
 
The Kern County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased.
