1 Dead in Long Beach Crash Pedestrian Crash on Seventh Street and Cherry Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (October 31, 2020) – Friday afternoon, a woman died in an accident on Seventh Street and Cherry Avenue.
According to reports, the incident occurred at about 2:45 p.m.
Witnesses revealed that a northbound white SUV on Cherry Avenue sped up. In the driver’s attempt to beat a red light, it hit a westbound black sedan on Seventh Street.
Then, the SUV spun out of control and hit the woman sitting at a bus stop.
“It was horrible,” stated witness Maddy Kilpatrick, who was in a car behind the black sedan.
At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased. However, the police confirmed that she’s a 62-year-old from Long Beach.
Meanwhile, both motorists involved in the collision remained at the scene. Furthermore, the detectives haven’t found any evidence of distracted or impaired driving, LBPD spokeswoman Allison Gallagher revealed.
