1 Dead and 1 Injured in Federal Way Car Crash
FEDERAL WAY, WA (November 26, 2019) – A woman died while a 9-year-old boy sustained injuries in a car crash on 348th Street.
According to the police, on November 24 before 10:00 a.m., a woman in her 30s drove recklessly and crashed into a tree without a seat belt on. Her passenger, a 9-year-old boy sustained injuries and went to a local hospital.
The woman reportedly traveled over 70 mph in a 35-mph speed zone heading west in the 500 block of South 348th Street, Kurt Schwan with Federal Way Police revealed.
An officer tried to pull the woman over but she didn’t stop. She then headed north on 1st Avenue south before making a U-turn at South 336th Street. Afterward, she started driving south, Schwan added.
Upon reaching the 34200 block, she lost control and crashed into a tree. The woman died at the scene.
It’s still unclear whether the woman is the mother of the boy. Authorities are still conducting an investigation.
