26-Year-Old Woman Hospitalized after Crash near Babcock Street

 
POULSBO, WA (October 5, 2018) – On Friday afternoon, a 26-year-old woman of Bainbridge Island, was injured in school bus collision on Highway 3.
 
The woman was driving a 2001 Subaru Legacy at around 4:22 PM, when it was struck by a 2016 Bluebird school bus carrying the Sequim High football. The accident occurred about 7 miles north of Poulsbo near the Highway 3 intersection with Babcock Street, just south of the Hood Canal Bridge.
 
The female driver was heading south on the highway when she stopped to make a left turn. As her vehicle was veering left, a 2016 Bluebird school bus, driven by 61-year-old man from Port Angeles, rear ended the her car.
 
Due to the impact of the collision, the woman was transported to Harrison Medical Center Bremerton for treatment and her vehicle was towed from the scene. There is no update on her current medical status, or the condition of the bus driver.
 
The surrounding area was blocked off for cleanup and preliminary investigation. No further details on the circumstances leading up to the crash have been disclosed at this time.
