Trolley Car Kills Pedestrian in Lemon Grove
LEMON GROVE, CA (November 22, 2019)—A woman died Wednesday afternoon when a San Diego MTS trolley car struck her near Lemon Grove and Massachusetts avenues.
The incident took place around 3:45 p.m., per the San Diego Sheriff’s Department. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. However, police determined that the trolley car dragged the woman who died about 100 yards.
Her identity has yet to be confirmed, but investigators learned that she waited for the train before the incident.
Authorities closed the Orange Line between the Encanto/62nd and Spring Street Stations. In addition, other buses arrived to transport stranded passengers to their next destination.
