Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Train in San Jose
SAN JOSE, CA (May 16, 2019) – A northbound Caltrain fatally struck a woman Wednesday morning on Monterey Boulevard near Fehren Drive.
According to Caltrain, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred near the Capitol Station.
Caltrain No. 227, running from Gilroy to San Francisco with 304 people on board, struck the woman around 7:40 a.m.
No one on board the train suffered any injuries, said Caltrain spokeswoman Tasha Bartholomew.
However, officials had to stop all trains in the area with bus shuttles available to transport passengers past the scene. By 9 a.m., train services continued as scheduled.
It’s too early for authorities to determine the cause of the woman’s death. However, more investigation is underway.
