Driver, Dog Dies in Fiery Crash With Tree in Westlake Village
WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA (April 12, 2019) – A woman and her dog died Thursday afternoon following a fiery solo-car crash on Highway 101 at the Lindero Canyon Road off-ramp.
Around 2:30 p.m., a woman and her dog died when their vehicle careened off the freeway off-ramp and crashed into a tree.
According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, arriving firefighters found a person trapped inside, prompting them to quickly extinguish the fire before freeing the victim.
Shortly after, paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene. It appears the victim’s pet also died in the crash.
California Highway Patrol officers issued a Sigalert on the off-ramp due to investigations.
