Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on East San Ysidro Boulevard
San Diego, CA (October 15, 2020) – On Thursday, a woman believed to be in her 40s, died in a hit-and-run crash on East San Ysidro Boulevard.
San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims said the fatal incident was reported before 1 a.m. near Interstate 805.
The victim was walking westbound in the south crosswalk of East San Ysidro Boulevard, against a red traffic signal.
At the same time, a gold-colored SUV was heading down the offramp from northbound I-805.
Apparently, the victim walked in front of the SUV, which was on a green light. As a result, she was struck and knocked down, Heims said.
The SUV driver ran over the pedestrian, then, turned left onto westbound East San Ysidro Boulevard and fled the scene.
The authorities pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, no description of the hit-and-run driver is available.
With heavy hearts, we at Sweet Lawyers send our thoughts and prayers to the family and community of the deceased.
What’s To Do after a Fatal Crash
“Insurance companies will try to save money, even if it means not fully compensating a family for the wrongful death of a loved one. When a family retains an attorney immediately, it gives them time to grieve and heal, while their attorney works to build a strong case and hold the negligent party accountable,” says Tyler Toomey, a practicing attorney at Sweet Lawyers.
