Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 29 Left 1 Driver Dead and Another Hospitalized
Kelseyville, CA (August 27, 2021) – A collision on Highway 29 involving two vehicles left a woman dead and another injured on Thursday morning.
The incident happened on August 26 on Highway 29, north of Argonaut Road around 10:00 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene about 3 miles northwest of Kelseyville. According to the report, the now-deceased driver of the 1998 Mazda Protege was going south. She was driving 55 mph when she entered the opposite lane and collided with an oncoming northbound 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The driver of the Mazda died at the scene due to the impact of the collision. However, her identification is being withheld pending notification of her next-of-kin.
Fatal Crash in Kelseyville
Meanwhile, the Jeep’s driver, a 66-year-old Kelseyville woman, sustained broken ribs and a broken foot. Medics transported her to Sutter Lakeside Hospital in Lakeport for treatment. There has been no update regarding her current condition.
Furthermore, the preliminary duties and investigation prompted the closure of both lanes for about an hour.
