Driver Dies in Hit-and-Run Collision in Tucson
TUCSON, AZ (November 14, 2019)—A woman died Wednesday following a hit-and-run crash on 22nd Street near South Wilmot Road.
The fatal crash involved several vehicles. According to the Tucson Police Department Sgt. Pete Duga, an eastbound traveling pickup truck, driven by a woman, was rear-ended by a vehicle traveling and excessive speeds.
Due to the impact, the pickup traveled to the westbound side, where two other cars collided with it. The truck subsequently flipped over, killing the woman inside.
One driver in the other vehicles sustained minor injuries while a child escaped injury.
Unfortunately, the person operating the speeding car, causing the mayhem, fled the scene before abandoning the vehicle not too far from the scene.
Now, authorities are investigating the driver’s whereabouts and urge witnesses to come forward and call 88-CRIME.
