1 Killed in Pierce County Accident on 128th Street East near South Hill
PIERCE COUNTY, WA (March 9, 2021) – On Sunday morning, a woman died in a crash on 128th Street East near South Hill.
According to Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, the incident happened at around 11:00 a.m. A westbound white sedan traveled at a high rate of speed on 128th Street East. Then, it rear-ended a black SUV turning west on 128th Street.
The force of the crash pushed the sedan up and over the SUV before landing back on the road.
Moreover, responders pronounced the 31-year-old female driver of the SUV dead on the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the 32-year-old male driver of the sedan to a hospital with serious injuries.
Furthermore, authorities took the sedan driver into custody for suspected vehicular slaughter.
Also, officers are checking if the suspect drove under the influence at the time of the crash.
Reports revealed that the suspect vehicle traveled close to 100 miles per hour when the crash occurred, Sgt. Darren Moss Jr. said.
