Fatal Multi-Car Accident in Apple Valley near Deep Creek Road
APPLE VALLEY, CA (April 15, 2019) – A woman lost her life, and five were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Bear Valley Road Sunday afternoon.
According to authorities, the incident happened around 2:00 p.m., in the 19900 block of Bear Valley Road. Dispatchers arrived to the area near Deep Creek Road soon after.
The accident was described as a head-on crash involving a white Chevy Blazer SUV, a gray Toyota and a white Nissan Rogue. However, the details leading up to the collision are currently unclear.
Officers said that due to the impact of the crash, one woman in the Toyota died. The driver, however, suffered critical injuries. As a result, paramedics requested a helicopter to airlift the man to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
In addition, two others suffered moderate injuries while the remaining patients endured minor injuries.
In the investigation, Deputy B. Mahoney noted that the Toyota made a sudden lane change and veered into the No. 1 lane. Subsequently, the Toyota careened into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the Chevy Blazer.
However, because details are scant, officials are continuing their pursuit of the cause.
