Woman Hit, Injured by Driver in Victorville Pedestrian Crash on Palmdale Road
VICTORVILLE, CA (July 30, 2019) – A woman suffered injuries Monday when a driver struck her in a pedestrian crash on Palmdale Road at the 15 Freeway on-ramp.
According to reports, the incident unfolded around 7:17 a.m. on the 15 South Freeway on-ramp. When Victorville City fire responded, they immediately requested an airship to airlift the female victim to a trauma center.
Due to the helicopter’s arrival, deputies closed off Palmdale Road so aircrews could land safely on the road. The 19-year-old female was airlifted to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez stated that a Subaru driver approaching the on-ramp to enter the freeway struck the woman on the south shoulder of Palmdale Road.
Rodriguez adds that the pedestrian began running in an attempt to make it across the road before the car struck her.
The 27-year-old female driver escaped harm and remained at the scene for investigation. At this time, it’s unclear whether the driver will face any charges or citations.
