William Nakahara Dies in Collision With Semi-Truck on 5 Freeway Near Tuxford Street

 
SUN VALLEY, CA (April 30, 2019) – A big rig and vehicle crash on the 5 Freeway near Tuxford Street claimed a man’s life Monday.
 
The 4:15 a.m. accident occurred during rainy conditions on the northbound side of the freeway.
 
According to reports, the coroner identified the fatal victim as William Nakahara, of Cypress.
 
The 63-year-old driver collided with the big rig under unknown circumstances. Soon after, paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead at 4:42 a.m.
 
Due to the crash, crews issued a SigAlert for the No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 lanes while the carpool lane remained open.
 
Investigators are now looking into possible factors that might have contributed to the accident. They’re urging witnesses with insight to come forward and help them piece together the events that happened.
