Man Dies in Westwood Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Collision
WESTWOOD, CA (December 17, 2018) – A 39-year-old man lost his life Saturday following a hit-and-run pedestrian crash along Sunset Boulevard near North Mapleton Drive.
The fatal incident unfolded around 10:15 p.m. when the 39-year-old man, described as a transient, was crossing southbound outside of a marked crosswalk. An unknown vehicle heading eastbound on Sunset Boulevard struck the victim, causing him fatal injuries.
Police do not have a description of the vehicle, whose driver fled the scene, and the identity of the victim is being withheld until the next of kin has been notified.
