Warren Jackson and Joyce Booker Killed in Barstow Multi-Car Collision on Muriel Drive

Warren Jackson and Joyce Booker Dead, Several Injured in Multi-Car Wreck at Muriel Drive and Armory Road

 
BARSTOW, CA (February 7, 2019) – A Tuesday afternoon multi-car collision at Muriel Drive and Armory Road left several people injured and two others dead.
 
Warren Jackson, 55, and Joyce Booker, 59, were identified as the fatal victims in the 4:40 p.m. crash.
 
The Barstow Police Department said four people in a white Chevrolet Trailblazer, which was driven by Jackson, were heading north on Muriel Drive. For unknown reasons, the Trailblazer blew through the red light at the intersection with Armory Road and struck the passenger side of a white Ford Freestar minivan in the left turn lane.
 
While the Freestar minivan was pushed to the east sidewalk of Muriel Drive, the Trailblazer continued north and struck the front of a gray Audi A4 heading south on Muriel Drive. That impact pushed the Audi into a chain link fence while the Trailblazer continued north and struck the front of a black Chevy Silverado truck on Muriel Drive heading southbound. The force pushed the Silverado into the southbound lane while the Trailblazer plowed through a chain-link fence on the west side of Muriel Drive and came to a rest on a dirt embankment.
 
All four occupants of the Trailblazer were not strapped in their seatbelts and were ejected. Two of them suffered major injuries and were brought to Loma Linda University Medical Center by ambulance. Jackson and Booker, however, were declared dead at the scene.
 
The Freestar minivan driver was shuttled to Barstow Community Hospital with minor injuries and one occupant of the Audi was ushered by paramedics to Barstow Community Hospital with minor injuries. The Audi driver was unharmed and two other Audi occupants were taken to a hospital by family members after complaining of pain. The driver of the Chevy Silverado was hospitalized at Barstow Community Hospital with minor injuries.
 
Police are investigating the ultimate cause and are asking any witnesses to come forward.
