Orcutt Man Dies Days after Crash on Highway 1 near Black Road
GUADALUPE, CA (July 19, 2019) – Authorities identified 83-year-old Warner Deutschman of Orcutt as the man killed in a crash on Highway 1, Friday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Black Road, at about 6:00 PM. Due to unknown reasons, a Kia Sedona veered off the highway and crashed into two parked farming tractors.
Emergency responders transported Deutschman and his 81-year-old wife, Shirley Deutschman, to a local hospital. Unfortunately, Warner died two days after the collision. Meanwhile, Shirley suffered moderate injuries and is expected to recover soon.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Investigators will release additional information once it becomes available.
