Woman on Bike Hit and Injured by Driver in Vista
VISTA, CA (December 4, 2018) – A bicyclist suffered non-life-threatening yet serious injuries after being struck by a pickup truck on Sycamore Avenue near Shadow Ridge Drive Monday.
The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Sycamore Avenue. A 20-year-old woman was riding a bicycle and was hit by a pickup truck. She was subsequently brought to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment to her fractured bones.
Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck stayed at the scene and was questioned by officers. Intoxication was not believed to be a contributing source of the crash, but the Vista Sheriff’s Traffic Division is investigating this case further.
