Vernon Morrow Dies in 5 Freeway Car Accident Near Highway 58
BUTTONWILLOW, CA (December 2, 2019)—The man who died Saturday in a crash along the 5 Freeway near Highway 58 has been identified.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, officials have described the victim as a 52-year-old Cypress man. Vernon Paul Morrow died when his car drifted off the road on the southbound 5 Freeway and struck a box truck.
It appears a tow truck had been towing the box truck at the time; however, it’s unclear what drove Morrow in the direction of the crash.
Authorities plan to investigate the details of the accident and are seeking witnesses’ testimonies.
