Rider Dead, Motorist Injured in Ukiah Multi-Car Collision
UKIAH, CA (February 1, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed, and a driver was injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 20 near Marina Drive.
According to a press release from the California Highway Patrol, the Redwood Valley motorcyclist was operating a Harley Davidson when he crashed his bike head-on with a Toyota Camry.
The 62-year-old rider was killed in the crash and the woman driving the Toyota, a 37-year-old from Lakeport, was brought to Adventist Health in Ukiah with moderate injuries. In the midst of the crash, her Toyota was struck by another driver who was traveling behind her; however, that motorist, a 62-year-old Ukiah man, was unharmed.
A witness at the scene informed authorities that it appeared that the motorcyclist was trying to pass up other cars when he plowed into the Toyota. An investigation of this incident is underway.
