Injuries Reported in Redding Accident on Palacio Drive and Shasta View Drive

 
REDDING, CA (October 24, 2021) – Friday, authorities arrested Tyson Popejoy-Farrell and Miranda Garret after a police chase crash on Palacio Drive.
 
When officers arrived, they found Tyson Popejoy-Farrell, 26, of Redding and Miranda Garrett, 24, of Shingletown in a golden GMC Envoy. They held knives with the blades exposed in their hands while sleeping.
 
Officers commanded Popejoy-Farrell to drop the knife but he refused. He started the vehicle and hit the officer with his vehicle. As a result, the officer suffered minor injuries.
 
Then, Tyson Popejoy-Farrell and Miranda Garret went through the McConnell Foundation. Reports confirmed that they tried to hit people walking on the sidewalk as they drove through.
 
When the suspects reached Shasta View Drive and Palacio Drive, the officers intervened. However, they were unsuccessful because the suspects went into the intersection where it crashed with a white Ford truck.
 
As a result, the 68-year-old Ford truck driver and his 62-year-old female passenger suffered minor injuries.
 
Afterward, Tyson Popejoy-Farrell and Miranda Garret fled on foot after the collision. However, the Redding Police Department found and arrested them.
 
Authorities booked Popejoy-Farrell into the Shasta County Jail for the following charges: felony counts of exhibiting a deadly weapon to resist arrest, assault with a deadly weapon, evading a peace officer with wanton disregard for safety, hit and run resulting in injury, driving under the influence of drugs resulting in bodily injury, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person and obstructing/resisting a peace officer by means of threat or violence.
 
Meanwhile, authorities booked Garrett for the following charges: felony counts of hit and run resulting in injury, evading a peace officer with wanton disregard for safety, assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit a crime, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person.
