Tyler Davis, Jesus De La Torre-Aguilar Hurt After Car Plunges off East Canyon and South Main Streets Due to Failed Brakes
COLFAX, WA (November 5, 2019) — Two people suffered minor injuries Saturday when a car crashed off East Canyon and South Main streets due to brake failure.
According to deputies, 20-year-old Tyler Davis and his passenger drove off a 15-foot deep concrete flood control channel just before noon.
The 1990 Honda Accord Davis and his passenger occupied had experienced a brake failure while heading west on East Canyon Street. As a result, the Honda struck a telephone pole in an alley before ramming through a chain-link fence. Subsequently, the white vehicle plunged approximately 15 feet into a flood control channel.
Fortunately, Davis—of Sandpoint, Idaho—and his 18-year-old passenger—Jesus De La Torre-Aguilar—suffered only minor injuries in the accident.
