HOUSTON, TX (February 11, 2024) – Friday night, a tragic two-vehicle crash on East Interstate 610 Highway and Lawndale Street killed one person.

The incident happened at around 11:34 p.m. at East Interstate 610 Highway at Lawndale Street.

According to the Houston Police Department, a vehicle lost control at a curve and struck the vehicle of an off-duty officer. Then, the vehicle continued traveling north and collided with a TxDOT vehicle.

Moreover, officers confirmed that the driver of the vehicle that lost control was pronounced dead at the scene. Also, authorities confirmed that the officer was not hurt in the incident.
