People Hurt in Garbage Truck Crash on Pioneer Trail
South Lake Tahoe, CA (October 16, 2020) – On Thursday, two people were injured in a garbage truck crash on Pioneer Trail at Elks Club Drive.
The California Highway Patrol said the truck flipped when the driver turned too fast on Pioneer Trail.
Apparently, both the driver and the passenger were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Immediately, the rescuers took the victims to Barton Memorial Hospital.
Police said no other vehicles were involved in this crash.
Meanwhile, CHP reminded drivers to buckle up and watch their speed on the road.
Practice safe driving habits on the road at all times. Even when there is no police officer around to make sure you make a full and complete stop.
Furthermore, scan the road 1/2 mile to a full mile ahead in order to look out or recognize potential hazards in time. Our bodies weren’t designed to travel at 50mph. We were designed for speeds of less than 10mph. Thus, you need to learn to consciously break that natural instinct and focus farther ahead.
