Two Riders Critically Hurt after New Cuyama Car Crash on Highway 166
NEW CUYAMA, CA (November 11, 2019) – Two motorcyclists sustained critical injuries in a car crash on Highway 166 on Saturday, November 9.
According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the incident involved two motorcycles and another vehicle. Officers received reports around 7:15 a.m., on Highway 166 near Cottonwood Canyon. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.
Both motorcyclists sustained major injuries as a result of the impact.
Paramedic airlifted one by a Calstar medical helicopter to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. The other was transported by ground ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria for further treatment. However, there has been no update on their current condition.
Their identities have not been made available at this time. The accident is still currently under the investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
