Soenter Avendano CHP Officer Involved in Oxnard Two-Vehicle Crash
Oxnard, CA (November 18, 2020) – On Saturday, two people were injured, while CHP officer 23-year-old Soenter Avendano was involved in a two-vehicle crash on East Pleasant Valley Road.
The crash happened as the Dodge Charger patrol car was traveling westbound on Pleasant Valley Road, and at the same time, a Nissan Versa was moving eastbound on Bard Road.
Immediately, the CHP and Oxnard Fire Department responded to the crash scene.
Rescuers transported a 25-year-old Oxnard man and a 21-year-old Oxnard woman were rushed to Ventura County Medical Center with minor injuries.
Also, the rescuers took Avendano to the hospital.
Meanwhile, authorities believe neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the crash.
CHP Officer Steve Lutzke said the patrol car did not have its lights on at the time of the accident. Similarly, the information given by the agency did not say which driver was at fault in the incident.
