Police Arrest 35-Year-Old Burk Simonson on North Freya Street Vehicle Crash
Spokane, WA (February 21, 2021) – On Saturday, two were injured in a crash wherein police arrested 35-year-old Burk Simonson in a multi-vehicle crash on North Freya Street.
The incident took place before 2 p.m. at the intersection of East Trent Avenue.
The Deputy activated his emergency lights and siren. Then the pursuit went north on Havana Street from Sprague.
Afterward, the chase continued northbound to East Trent Avenue, where Simonson turned west.
The authorities terminated the chase after Simonson drove into oncoming lanes of traffic.
Minutes later, Simonson ran a red light and crashed with three other cars.
As a result, one of the cars was pushed into a power pole which broke and fell to the ground.
Immediately, Simonson fled on foot. Luckily, officers located and took him into custody.
Moreover, rescuers took two people involved in the crash to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Meanwhile, authorities said Simonson was wanted for a felony Washington State Department of Corrections Escape Community Custody warrant. Also, for additional warrants for several felony and misdemeanor charges to include, Fraud, ID Theft, Robbery, Theft and Driving while Suspended.
Similarly, rescuers also took Simonson to the hospital for minor/moderate injuries and further evaluation.
Once medically cleared, Simonson will face several new felony charges stemming from this incident in addition to his felon.
