Semi-Truck Overturned in Collision near Paradise Road
MODESTO, CA (March 15, 2019) – Two cars crashed into an overturned trailer on Highway 132, Friday morning.
First responders arrived near the intersection of Paradise Road, after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area. Reports indicate that a big rig driver lost control after the trailer drifted into a gravel shoulder. The trailer then landed on its right side and came to rest perpendicular to both lanes of the highway.
A Honda and another car were unable to stop in time and slammed into the truck. The Honda’s roof was sheared off after it drove under the drawbar of the trailer. The 16-year-old female driver of the Honda and her 21-year-old passenger suffered only minor injuries. No one in the second vehicle was hurt.
The highway was closed for several hours but eventually reopened later that day. A clearing operation was performed to clean and clear the area as officers began their investigation. No additional information has been released to the public at this time.
