Fatal Pedestrian Crash on State Street in San Jacinto
SAN JACINTO, CA (June 27, 2019) – A transient man died after hit and killed by a vehicle late Thursday evening in San Jacinto.
The fatal crash happened around 10:34 p.m. in the 500 block of State Street near Ramona Boulevard.
Deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene and found the pedestrian with critical injuries. Paramedics treated the man at the scene before AMR rushed him to an area hospital, where he later died.
The victim was only described as a Hispanic male adult and believed to be homeless.
According to a preliminary investigation, a vehicle driven by a 25-year-old San Jacinto man, was heading northbound on State Street when it struck the victim who was crossing the street.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
