3 People Dead in Irion County Plane Accident in Mertzon

IRION COUNTY, TX (November 28, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, a tragic plane crash in Mertzon killed three people.

The incident happened in Mertzon.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board, a Piper PA 28 was last seen at 6:34 p.m. Saturday near San Angelo.

Moreover, officers confirmed that three people, (the pilot and two passengers) were killed in the crash.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
