Tow Truck Driver Assisting Crash Victims Hurt in Victorville Pedestrian Accident
VICTORVILLE, CA (December 30, 2019)—A driver struck and injured a tow truck driver Friday morning on the 15 Freeway near E Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident stemmed from a two-vehicle crash around 4:48 a.m. The prior accident unfolded on the northbound 15 Freeway at the E Street off-ramp due to the presence of black ice on the road. As a result, several vehicles blocked the roadway.
The incident drew an Air Expressway tow truck to the scene. However, as the tow truck driver prepared to move the vehicles, another traveler lost control and struck the tow truck operator.
Shortly after, paramedics transported the tow truck operator to an out-of-area trauma center. Paramedics summoned another ambulance to tend to a second patient, who complained of pain.
Authorities are investigating the liabilities and circumstances of this crash. However, police did not provide any additional information at this time.
