Vehicle Hit by Tire in Collision near Sepulveda Boulevard
MISSION HILLS, CA (June 6, 2019) – A tire blowout incident caused a crash on westbound Highway 118, early Thursday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 5:43 PM, just east of Sepulveda Boulevard. Based on an initial report, a tire blowout caused the accident. However, the tire came off an unidentified vehicle. After that, a white Chrysler Aspen then hit the time after it crossed into the eastbound side of the road.
The paramedics arrived for needed medical attention. They had not yet released a report regarding any injuries sustained by involved motorists.
The SUV sustained major damage. Towing services responded as authorities conducted a clearing operation in the area.
An investigation is ongoing to determine what might have caused the blowout. In addition, police have not released any more information to the public at this time.
