Timothy Butler Faces DUI Charge in Major-Injury Crash on Highway 180 Near North Temperance Avenue
SANGER, CA (March 5, 2019) – An alleged DUI driver faces charges after causing a seven-vehicle crash Sunday night on Highway 180 near North Temperance Avenue.
The multi-car collision happened around 8 p.m., California Highway Patrol spokesman Victor Taylor said.
Authorities identified Timothy Butler as the 19-year-old driver who caused the chain-reaction crash. According to reports, Butler sideswiped an eastbound truck with his Honda while speeding. Subsequently, he veered into the oncoming westbound lanes and plowed into multiple vehicles.
Five people sustained major injuries, including a girl whom paramedics rushed to Valley Children’s Hospital with brain injuries.
A toxicology test will prove whether Butler was truly impaired.
Per the report, officers plan to book Butler into jail once he is medically cleared from Community Regional Medical Center.
